Application guidelines for foreigners at VNU - University of Economics and Business.
Requirements for candidates:
Foreigners or Vietnamese residing abroad who are admitted to study at the University of Economics and Business - referred to as international students - include:
- International students who fall within the agreements signed between the Government of Vietnam and foreign governments;
- International students who fall within the MOU signed between Vietnam National University, Hanoi or the University of Economics and Business - VNU with foreign training institutions;
- International students who are self-funded
Requirements for qualification:
- Have graduated from high school or equivalent;
- Have Vietnamese language competence (for the standard programs), English language competence (for Business Administration program, honors programs) and other requirements as determined by Vietnam National University, Hanoi regulations.
- Are physically fit for study and research, certified by competent medical organizations.
- Have the Financial capability for study, research and living expenditure.
How to apply:
- Make sure that you are qualified as an international student
- Prepare all documents and papers required
- Complete your application for admission
- Send your document by post or directly to Office of Academic Affairs (Address: Suite 305, E4 Building, VNU - University of Economics and Business, 144 Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay, Hanoi).
Annual deadline:
- Receiving application document from 1st May to 31st July
- Interview: August
- Admission: 5th September
Application Checklist:
- Application form (click here to download);
- Certified copies of high school diploma or equivalent in their original language and notarized English or Vietnamese translations;
- Certified copies of high school transcript or equivalent in their original language and notarized English or Vietnamese translations;
- Certification of accumulated score at a foreign or Vietnamese university (if any);
- Document of Vietnamese and English test exemption;
- Health certificate issued by competent medical authority
- Financial commitment to guarantee the study and living capability;
- Four 4cm x 6cm portrait photos (taken with 6 months of submitting)
Vietnamese qualification:
- International students must attend a Vietnamese language test conducted by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU before being admitted to university. Students who have not qualified in Vietnamese can attend Vietnamese class at VNU.
- International student exempted from the Vietnamese test are required to have achieved one of the following:
+ Graduated with a Vietnamese major at an overseas university;
+ Finished Vietnamese preparatory classes for foreigners at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU or in a Vietnamese specialized institution recognized by VNU;
+ Graduated from university with a major in Vietnamese.
English qualification:
- International students who apply for Business Administration major or honors programs must attend the English language test examined by the University of Languages and International Study - VNU before admission. If your English skills are not competent, you can attend English classes at VNU.
- International student exempted from English test are required to meet one of the following requirements:
+ Be a citizen of an English-speaking country;
+ Have graduated from university with a major in English;
+ Have an IELTS test score of 5.5. or equivalent.
